HeroflowjourneyKIDS
A gentle approach to learning and well-being
A gentle well-being and creative space offering conditions that support safety, calm, and connection — honouring children as they are.
Supporting children through mindful, creative practices that can support moments of steadiness, confidence, and emotional balance, at their own pace.
HeroflowJourneyKids is a calm, creative space shaped by years of experience in SEN teaching and trauma-informed practice. Each session offers mindful grounding, playful creativity, and relational presence — creating an environment that can support children to settle, express themselves, and explore learning in ways that feel manageable for them.
Important Information: While this space is intentionally gentle and supportive, HeroflowJourneyKids is not a replacement for school, therapy, or specialist provision. It does not offer assessments, diagnoses, or guarantees of academic, behavioural, or placement outcomes.
A short welcome into the gentle world of HeroflowJourneyKids:
If you are looking for a low-pressure, supportive space alongside your child’s wider support, you are very welcome here.
HeroflowJourneyKids is for children aged 5–16 who often do best in gentler, more attuned learning environments, with creative and mindful support held with warmth, care, and steady structure.
It supports children who may:
Sometimes feel anxious, sensitive, or over-whelmed
Prefer small groups and attuned guidance
Often learn more easily when supported emotionally, not pressured
Sessions take place within a clearly held physical or online setting, a relational field, and an attentive adult presence. The intention is to protect a space where life can happen safely — not to create a particular mood, outcome, or state.
Children may arrive calm or unsettled, playful or withdrawn, open or guarded. Quiet moments and lively energy, ease and difficulty, movement and stillness are all part of human experience and are welcomed within the space.
The adult role is to hold the structure of the session and the safety of the space. Expressions are welcomed, while behaviours that risk overwhelming others or causing harm are gently contained or redirected, so that the space remains safe for everyone.
Learning is approached without force, urgency, or expectation. Where learning emerges, it does so through curiosity, relationship, and readiness rather than targets, comparison, or timelines.
Sessions are guided by an attentive adult who offers structure, care, and a steady presence.
The focus is on responsiveness rather than perfection, with responsibility held by the adult for tending to the safety and integrity of the space.
No predefined outcomes: What emerges within that space will differ for each child and is not measured against predefined learning outcomes or timelines.
Inspired by Earth, Water, Fire, and Air, these elements offer a gentle framework for sessions — supporting creativity, reflection, and engagement without fixed expectations.
Each session may draw from these elements in a natural, child-led way, depending on interest, energy, and readiness.
Earth represents a place to return to.
This element offers grounding invitations that support children in reconnecting with their bodies, the space, and the relationship — in ways that feel manageable in the moment.
Activities may invite slowing down, noticing the body, or connecting with simple, familiar rhythms. These experiences are offered as invitations, not expectations, and children engage in ways that feel manageable for them.
Examples may include:
• gentle grounding or movement
• sensory activities
• body awareness through play or stillness
Water represents movement, imagination, and emotional flow.
This element offers space for creativity and expression without pressure to explain, perform, or “get it right”.
Children are invited to explore creative materials and ideas freely, allowing feelings, stories, or images to emerge — or not — in their own time and way.
Examples may include:
• drawing, doodling, or colour exploration
• imaginative play or simple art-making
• storytelling or visual expression
Fire reflects energy, motivation, and the spark of agency.
This element offers opportunities for children to make choices, take small risks, or follow their own interests — always within a supported and contained space.
Rather than pushing confidence, this element honours moments of readiness, curiosity, or self-direction when they naturally arise.
Examples may include:
• choosing activities or how to engage
• playful challenges or experiments
• sharing ideas, preferences, or creations (if they wish)
Air: Curiosity, Reflection & Communication
Air represents space, perspective, and gentle awareness.
This element invites noticing thoughts, feelings, or connections — without analysis, judgement, or pressure to verbalise.
Children may engage through quiet reflection, conversation, or simply observing — with participation always optional and paced by the child.
Examples may include:
• mindful noticing
• journaling or quiet reflection moments
• soft conversations or shared observations
These elements are not stages or outcomes. Each session draws from them flexibly, responding to the child, the moment, and the shared space.
Small, relaxed online groups follow a simple, flexible rhythm:
a short grounding → a playful creative activity → gentle reflection.
Each session adapts to your child’s energy, needs, and comfort on the day — always child-led, never pressured.
Parents receive brief, well-being-focused updates that reflect moments of engagement, creativity, or settling — not grades, targets, or performance measures.
A gentle creative booklet that invites children to explore, notice, and express themselves at their own pace.
It offers simple prompts, playful activities, and quiet moments of reflection that children can return to whenever they wish.
A small glimpse into the HeroflowJourneyKids approach — nurturing, imaginative, and pressure-free.
With warmth,
Soleia

Hi, I’m Soleia — the founder of HeroflowJourneyKids.
I’m a qualified teacher and experienced SEN tutor with over 13 years of working with children across primary and secondary settings. Alongside my teaching background, I have training in psychodynamic counselling and trauma-informed practice, which deeply shapes how I work with children and families.
Across schools, 1:1 sessions, and creative spaces, I’ve noticed something again and again:
Children don’t need fixing — they grow when they feel safe, seen, and allowed to be themselves.
HeroflowJourneyKids was created to offer a space like that.
A space that is calm but alive.
Structured, yet responsive.
Supportive without pressure or performance.
In sessions, I focus on creating the conditions where children can breathe, explore, and engage at their own pace — whether that looks quiet or expressive, playful or reflective, settled or unsettled on a given day.
I don’t work toward predefined outcomes or timelines. Instead, I hold the structure of the space so each child’s process can unfold safely and naturally.
I see my role not as an expert who has all the answers, but as a steady, attentive adult who listens, adapts, and reflects — offering care, boundaries, and presence rather than perfection.
If you’re curious, have questions, or would like to get a feel for whether this approach might be right for your child, you’re very welcome to connect or book a free trial session.
Each session follows a simple, flexible rhythm.
We usually begin with a short grounding or settling activity, followed by gentle creative, playful, or reflective exploration such as drawing, art-making, mindful games, storytelling, or quiet conversation.
The pace is calm and responsive, always guided by the child’s comfort and energy on the day. Sessions adapt naturally — there is no fixed agenda to “get through.”
I share light, narrative feedback that focuses on what I notice emerging over time — such as engagement, confidence, curiosity, emotional expression, or moments of ease.
There are no grades, targets, or performance measures.
Progress isn’t treated as a straight line, and it isn’t judged against predefined outcomes.
There is no formal homework.
Occasionally, I may offer an optional creative or mindful prompt for children who enjoy continuing an activity between sessions — always by invitation, never expectation.
That’s completely understood — plans change.
If possible, I’ll offer a make-up option or a gentle reflection prompt so your child can reconnect in a way that feels supportive rather than pressurised.
My approach is trauma-informed and grounded in emotional safety.
We move slowly, build trust, and use grounding, sensory, and creative tools to help children regulate in ways that feel manageable to them.
There is no pressure to “feel better” or to change how a child is showing up.
Yes — I offer a free 30-minute online session.
This gives your child the chance to meet me, experience the space, and see whether it feels like a good fit before joining a group.
A device with a camera and microphone, a stable internet connection, and a quiet, comfortable space.
Some families also enjoy joining from outdoors when appropriate.
Yes — a parental consent form is completed before sessions begin.
Safeguarding, privacy, and refund policies are available on the website and shared clearly in advance.
No. I’m a qualified teacher and experienced SEN tutor, with additional training in psychodynamic counselling and trauma-informed practice.
The work is therapeutic in tone but not clinical.
If a child needs formal therapy, I’m happy to help signpost to appropriate professionals.
Sessions take place in secure, password-protected Zoom rooms with waiting rooms and controlled entry.
I hold an enhanced DBS and follow UK safeguarding and GDPR guidelines.
Parents remain nearby to supervise and ensure the physical environment is safe.
Each session offers a supportive, gently structured space where your child can arrive as they are.
Some sessions may feel calm and settled; others may be more playful, expressive, or exploratory. There is no expectation for a particular emotional state, behaviour, or visible “result.”
Over time, some parents notice small shifts — such as moments of increased ease, engagement, trust, or self-expression — but these unfold differently for each child and are not measured against timelines or targets.
Not always — and that’s okay.
This space suits families who value emotional safety, creativity, and a non-pressured approach to learning and wellbeing.
If it doesn’t feel like the right fit, we’ll talk openly and kindly about next steps.
